Most of you know AM Quar as a gifted musician who sings in English, French and Spanish and don’t forget a few songs he knows in Italian and Portugese. His fans follow him from gig to gig to hear him perform Blues, Latino and Rock. You know you’re going to be entertained by one of the most talented SL performers. But did you know AM is also a men’s fashion content creator?
Bet you didn’t.
To the right of Silk Dreams on Snug Harbor’s North Beach Pavillion, you’ll find Massico Creazione. Upon the warm wood-grained floor, tucked away neatly in jet black vendors, you will find AM’s colorful clothing line. Forget the usual laid back style when you can add a punch of color and vibrant style to your wardrobe to make you stand out in a crowded room. AM’s designs are about confidence and a joy for all life offers. He’s captured exotic textures: the bold yellows and oranges of the tropics, black leather pants that look well-worn and not right off the clothing store shelves, colorful or striped sweaters ready for cold winter nights and retro looks great for SL venues following music of the 60s and 70s.
AM began creating his unique fashions as a hobby. He was satisfied with Second Life’s men’s clothing. He didn’t feel they lacked quantity, quality or selection. But he wanted something more. Something vibrant and more of his style. So he got to work.
“There are many designers that are very professional in Second Life and offer very nice clothing, but I’ve always been the kind of guy that tries to do things for myself and make what I need, if it’s possible,” he related.
Not only does he enjoy making men’s clothes, he enjoys wearing what he creates having learned how its done with Photoshop. AM also uses prims and sculpts. The textures, he’s purchased from SL creators.
AM added color to his clothing line for he felt a colorful selection of men’s fashions was not represented when he entered Second Life. He told me that black and leather were the big sellers.
Three years ago, he was working on the computer 15 hours a day, performing four to five gigs a week and making clothes. So, creating clothes took a backseat to performing. Should the interest in his line be rekindled, you might just see more of his special style in Snug Harbor. He also has a link for his marketplace store: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/41979, but prefers that you shop on Ty Lomes’ sim.
Catch AM Quar weekly at Marina Blues on Snug Harbor, Endeavour Cove, at Two Moon Paradise, the New World/Stars in the Sky. He also performs bi-monthly at Club Lion and Whispering Sands on Friday.
